The Dubuque Racing Association, Ltd. (DRA) is a not-for-profit corporation which operates the Dubuque Greyhound Park & Casino in Dubuque, Iowa. The Association holds the license for both the greyhound-racing and slot-machine operations at its Schmitt Island facility, and is the co-licensee for the Diamond Jo Casino located in Dubuque's Ice Harbor.
Since its inception in 1985, 30% of the Association's funds are distributed to charitable organizations annually. Contributions from DRA help to make possible the annual Special Olympics Iowa State Winter Games, held in Dubuque since 1977. Over 300 athletes, their coaches, and families arrive in Dubuque each January to compete in downhill and cross country skiing, snowshoeing, figure skating and speed skating. Funds dedicated to charitable donations help allow Special Olympics Iowa to provide housing, meals, equipment and facilities at no cost to the athletes.
The Dubuque Racing Association is an integral part of the success of the Special Olympics Iowa State Winter Games. We thank the DRA for their continued support of our athletes and programs.
