Fellingham Internship Purpose: The Fellingham Internship is designed to further the intern’s professional development through meaningful and varied experiences in a successful nonprofit organization. The internship will be tailored to utilize the student’s academic preparation and areas of interest while also providing experience in various areas of the Special Olympics Iowa structure such as sports management, marketing, event management, training and outreach, healthy athlete programming, communications, development, leadership and administrative responsibilities. The internship takes place between January and May 2014 in Grimes, Iowa.
Qualifications: Senior level student or graduate from an Iowa college or university within the past year (December 2012-May 2014). The ideal candidate must have a 3.0 GPA or higher, excellent written and verbal communication skills, good organizational and time management skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. The internship will be completed in accordance with the policies and procedures of the intern’s academic institution. Length of appointment: 15 – 16 weeks with the expectation the student will commit to a minimum of 40 hours per week. Starting date and duration: January to May. Starting dates TBD once an offer is made to the candidate. Stipend: $2,000.00 per month
