Ames Rotary Club presents check to sponsor Summer Games Opening Ceremonies

Ames Rotary Club President Steve Goodhue presents SOIA Interim President/CEO Rich Fellingham with a check to help sponsor the May 23 Opening Ceremonies at Summer Games. The club also provides ushers for Opening Ceremonies.
Taco John’s gift benefits Special Olympics Iowa athletes in northwest Iowa

Taco John’s recently presented a check for $2,556 to Special Olympics Iowa (SOIA) to benefit athletes in northwest Iowa. This is the third consecutive year for the Taco John’s fundraising and awareness campaign which has generated a total of $6,997. The funds help provide training and competition for the 826 SOIA athletes in northwest Iowa.
Between December 1 and December 25, thirteen Taco John’s restaurants from northwest Iowa participated in this campaign including Cherokee, LeMars, Sioux City, Spencer, Spirit Lake, Storm Lake, South Sioux City and Norfolk (NE) and North Sioux City (SD). The restaurants donated a portion of each Nachos Navidad® sold, in addition to collecting change and selling paper ornaments for $1 with all proceeds to SOIA athletes in northwest Iowa.
