What: Special Olympics Iowa Cop on Top fundraiser where law enforcement officials stand outside Walmart Stores in an effort to receive donations to benefit programs for Special Olympics Iowa that provide training and sports competition to nearly 11,000 Iowans with intellectual disabilities and Unified Sports partners.

Background:
On November 2, 3 and 4 area law enforcement officials will be at the Walmart store in Centerville to raise money and awareness for Special Olympics Iowa. The event kicks off at 8:00 a.m. on Friday and concludes at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday.
Cop on Top events began 13 years ago in various parts of the state. Altoona, Ames, Ankeny, Cedar Rapids, Coralville, Council Bluffs, Des Moines, Iowa City, Marshalltown, Ottumwa, West Des Moines and Windsor Height will host a Cop on Top event this year.
Special Olympics Iowa, a statewide nonprofit organization, has provided sports training and competitions for children and adults with intellectual disabilities since 1968.
