If you’re looking for a new type of adventure and consider yourself a thrill-seeker you will want to register now for the Over the Edge for Special Olympics Iowa (SOIA) fundraiser on Wednesday, September 19. This is the third year for the extreme fundraiser in downtown Des Moines.
SOIA Interim President and CEO Rich Fellingham said, “We expect more than 100 individuals will go Over the Edge for Special Olympics Iowa during this extreme event and a once in a lifetime experience.” The day will feature a rappel of 345-feet off the Financial Center in downtown Des Moines.
“We are pleased to offer this exciting fundraising opportunity,” Fellingham said. “We’ve had a great response to this event. All the funds raised benefit nearly 11,000 Special Olympics Iowa athletes and Unified Sports partners across the state.”
Sponsors include Farrell’s Xtreme Bodyshaping, KCCI News Channel 8 and Terrus Real Estate Group. In addition, Lance and Laurel Farrell are the 2012 Over the Edge honorary chairs.
